Email and SMS

You can communicate to your customers by Email and SMS. When you set up your account and platform with Coniq, you will have been given a certain amount of email and SMS credits which you can view in your ‘My Profile’ section on the platform, see Create Profile, if you require more then please email support@coniq.com

Emails (or SMS) can be used for communications such as a newsletter, welcome email, a response to completing a sign up form, informing customers of new offers or reward programs that they can join.

In the communications tab you can filter your emails and SMS to view: All/Email/SMS/Draft/Pending/Sent/Birthday.

If you select each of your saved and sent emails or SMS, you can view the sent and open rates to see how successful that particular communication has been. This can then help you decide your next campaign;

  • you can target the people who didn’t open the email with a more catchy subject title
  • you can target the people who didn’t redeem the offer with a different offer

 

Email

To create a new email head to the ‘Communications’ tab on the platform, select ‘New’  then ‘New Email’.

This will open up the following page where you can start to create your email.

First, you will need to decide the type of email you are sending.

A Campaign communication is a regular email where you can add an offer and send directly to your customers.

A Sign-up response is an email you create to be sent only when a customer sign themselves up to your database.

A Automated communication email is created and sent automatically to your customers. This is also where you can create your Birthday communications.

Once decided name the email to identify this particular communication (this is internal). You can then write a catchy subject line that will entice the recipient to open and read the email; this subject line is the first thing your customer will see when looking at the email in their inbox.

Letting them know that there is an offer waiting for them in the email is a good example.

Select your offer (if you are attaching one) from the drop down box. This will attach it to the email.

If you have not yet made an offer you can attach it later, just remember to come back to this email later and attach! See Creating Offers.

You will then need to select the rest of the information;

Communication from: The ‘From’ name that will appear in the reader’s inbox identifies you or your business.

Customers targeted: Choose ‘All Customers’, or a specific tag or group that you have saved, depending who you wish to target.

Your email information should now be complete:

Finally, to make it that bit easier for your customers to redeem their offer we have integrated with Apple Wallet enabling them to see their offer code on their Apple phone - you can find out more about Apple Wallet here

 

Designing your email.

Next you need to decide how your email will look by selecting a template from the template tab, and then editing this using the Coniq editor.

You can either;

  • Choose a standard template from the list shown
  • Choose a custom template that has been uploaded, contact support@coniq.com for more information on having our design team create you a fully custom editable template

 

Standard Templates

There are a range of templates here to choose from. You can personalise many of the templates with images and text. Select which one you wish to use and edit.

 

Generic templates

The first row of templates are fully editable so you have full freedom to change anything and everything within the template.

The second row of templates, when selected, will pull your brand colour and brand logo from your ’My Profile’ section on the platform, and again the text and images are editable.

Seasonal templates

These are ready made templates with seasonal/occasion designs. Again with these you can personalise with your own text and attach an offer.

 

Editor Tab

In this tab you can edit your email by changing the text and images displayed. Simply click in each box which has the pen editor sign, and follow the prompts to edit.

Most of the standard templates have the Email Designer button available when editing (top right corner of the editor tab).

If you select this it gives you even more options to fully edit your email. For more information and a step by step guide please head to Email Designer.

We recommend you send yourself a test email by pressing ‘Send Test Email’ in the top right hand corner of the screen and entering an email address.

Once you have finished editing your email press ‘SAVE’ and, it will be listed in your ‘Communications tab’.

You can send this email now or later it’s up to you!

 

SMS

To send an SMS, head to the ‘Communications’ tab, select ‘New’ and then ‘New SMS’.

Write a short (125 characters max) catchy SMS that will entice the reader to click the offer link. There is room for more  details to be mentioned in the Offer Text field. If no offer is selected than you can use 160 characters.
